Cook Portable Warehouses
Reviews and Complaints
Avoid at all cost!
So to begin with when the driver came out to set up our shed they did a *** job it needed to be on blocks bc the area is wet (we are in Florida) and we provided the blocks they pretty much just slid it off the trailer and left, we leveled it ourselves.. We paid 22 months on the shed (Nov 2018) $291 a month and paid extra just for good measure anywho same thing I read they will charge you a late fee of $35 EVERY TIME didn't see this until we requested a print out of payments bc they said the payoff for the shed was as of last month is $7,400 (the renting price that was on the contract!) #CRooksPortableWarehouse

Worst Experience Ever!!!!!
I had the absolute worst experience with this company. They sent a repo guy out to repossess storage shed.
The guy threatened to trespass on my property, tear down my fence and was just plain disrespectful to me. I called my husband being as he was the one that purchased the shed to inform him of what was taking place and he stated he was on the phone with said company. I arrived home and there was the repo guy and his trailer parked in the field across the street. I went into my house and my husband appeared shortly after still on the phone with the company.
Long story short there was a mistake made on the company's behalf. My husband was current on payments. I went to the BBB website and saw at least 3-4 other similar complaints from this company.
This incident caused embarrassment to me and my family and as I mentioned earlier I was disrespected and threatened all for nothing. In the future have your ducks in a row before you send someone out accusing them of not paying their bill.
Billing
Not sure why i received this email. My last phone call with your team was pleasant. Paid my bill and that was it.
Don't do it
This is the worst transaction we have ever made besides purchasing a Ford. We have made more payments in a few weeks that came out to about $400 and its a complete rip off. Soon as we are able to save we are paying cash for a storage because this is not the place to be.

They send out a repo team even when you dont owe, then tell you that you owe... then it turns out that the money you gave them was only for the repo team to go away. So the next month your in the hole
rent to own is a scam. Its a lease not a rent to own. In the end, you'll still owe more than they state at the signing of the contract.
Damn im not the only one.
As i read through the reviews of other consumers i had flashbacks of each and every complaint and issue they have had with cooks. Seems like they have a nack for doing bad service.
What i will add to the list is their lack of integrity when it comes to keeping to the plan when it comes to adjusted payments when catching up on overdue deposits. They not only practically ignored my every attempt to correct my payments being late and my keeping them informed as i a payed a monthly payment every two weeks but they must have skiptraced my relatives to get my wifes number to run my sincerity through the mud. They called her and made it look as though i wasnt making any effort to fix anything. They did this on the day of my 22nd wedding anniversary to boot.
Thanks cooks for ruining that day for me. I will never do business with you people again.
Bogus lifetime warranty
When buying this shed we were told it came with a lifetime warranty. The shingles have had to be replace twice and the lock broke, which I had to pay to replace.
When I noticed the siding bucking I contacted them and was told the siding was NOT covered under their lifetime warranty!! I then tried to speak to the supervisor "Phillip", he was rude and refused to answer my questions and even hung up on me!! Very POOR customer service!!
I feel I was lied to by the salesman to make the sale. If I knew then what I know now I would NOT have done business with Cook shed.

Will lie to sell a shed!
I went in on Thursday 5/26/18 because Ron in Sebring, Fl told me that if I put the down payment down right then I could have the shed no later than the following Wednesday. I explained why I needed it and didn't buy from the other company because unfortunately they couldn't deliver in time.
He assured me I would have it. Called him back when I didn't hear from anyone and he guaranteed me by Thursday. Told me several times that he would call me right back and I still haven't heard from him. Called the cooperate office and was told I was on the schedule for the 9th.
I ended up getting a refund because the 9th would've been too late, like I explained before I bought it.
Throughout the entire experience Ron would tell us whatever we wanted to hear to make the sale, once he did he ignored our calls. Would not recommend buying anything from him.
Unhappy customer
Today I called this company on behalf of my mom. My late stepfather rented a shed with Cook, he was on time on his payments every single month (18 months total) until he got very sick and ended up passing.
Now my mom, a 68 year old cancer survivor, is left dealing with all her late husband’s commitments. Thank God mainly all of the other companies she has been dealing with have been very kind, and understanding of her situation and have worked with her in a very reasonable way. However, this company “Cook Potable Warehouses” were quite the opposite. I had to call twice, they dropped my call the first time, so I asked to please talk to a supervisor because I needed to request an extra week for the shed to be picked up.
I spoke to Mr.
Smith, which in a very condescending way denied my request, and demanded a full payment if I needed an “extra week”. I feel indignation to see the lack of compassion and empathy from the company’s management.
Cook Portable Warehouses - Customer Care Review from Chapman Ranch, Texas
I bought my warehouse from you all, over priced that it turned out being, not the same price to be paid within 90 days that's why I was told when I got the unit. I didn't pay it off in 90 days when I found out that only half my payment would actually go towards the warehouse no matter when I paid it off.
Either way I paid it off early but am now I am moving a hundred and sixty-four Miles Away. I called Cooks to move my building. I left a voicemail with where I was and where I was moving to and was given a price of $433 total move when the lady called me back. I was told it would take 2 to 3 weeks to schedule I told the lady I would call back as soon as I cleared it with my husband to see what kind of time frame we were in.
I called on Friday and no one called me back I called again on Monday the girl called me back but now the price has doubled. I left a message for her supervisor who was only willing to discount me $100 on the move and $100 if I wanted to buy a new unit as well. This is terrible business practices and it said and because one of the manufacturing plant is in my hometown of Bastrop. It's sad that I will not be able to do business with a company that provides for people in that area.
I will be moving the building myself now and buying my new building from someone else. Cooks your rip off and you need to reevaluate yourself I will let everyone know not to buy from you and wish I had never made the mistake and should have had you take it back as soon as I found out you all lied in the beginning.

This is not a case of a company lying to the customer. It is explained to you at the time of purchase---as well as being physically in writing on page 4 of your order form---that the lifetime warranty covers termites and rot--NOT everything on the building...NOT shingles or locks....Not physical damage to the siding not caused by termites or rot.
It's in black and white in the order form you signed.
Now, please, take some responsibility for your own choice, admit your mistake, and move on. This company does a lot of things wrong--I would know, I worked for them for years--but this is not one of them and you should apologize for posting false complaints.
